I am now 28 years old and feeling it. I guess this is the first time I actually feel my age. I’m not alone on this one, my body thinks so too.

I turned 28 on the 3rd. Had a wonderful lunch at work. With great food, wine and gifts. I felt loved. It didn’t end there, I had an amazing dinner with Nick and friends at Bizzaro. It was so funny when we they brought out the desserts. The waiter was singing happy birthday like a drunken guy. It was so funny. He acted so drunk that words weren’t coming out of his mouth, just the tune of the birthday song. I was laughing and enjoyed it a lot. You guys have to check out the video on their website to see what I’m talking about.

I had linguini with clams. Oh it was heaven! I’ll post some photos after this post. To make you all jealous of course. ha!

The good news is, I passed the knowledge test to get my student driver’s permit. You will see me on the roads pretty soon my dearies. So be prepared.

For an extra birthday gift, my wonderful husband got me a Blackberry Curve. :) It is like being on crack! I love the phone! Nick got a Samsung touch screen phone but I think he’s going to return it and exchange it with a Blackberry. Oh yeah!

Hope you guys had a wonderful weekend. Superbowl last night was pretty fun. Go Saints!

Where Did January Go?

This I’m sure this will be a mess of a post. I just can’t believe that it’s a few days from February and my birthday. It’s like the whole month happened in a week.

It’s been a busy one, especially today. Worked almost 10 hours on my deadlines. Goodness. I can’t wait for the time when Nick’s done with school, already working and I’d be making money part time. And no, no kids yet. That’s the plan. That’s the plan. God could change it anytime.

So tomorrow, at 27 yrs. of age, I will finally take that driver’s knowledge test so I can work on getting my driver’s license. It’s crazy how important it is to have it here. In Manila, tons of people survive without driving. Everything’s so far apart here it sucks big time getting on the bus, what with all the stops and the creeps.

Let’s hope I pass the test tomorrow. Get my student driver permit then get that dang license in my wallet.

Hope you had a great week everyone. I’m off to watch a movie, review and dream of  tropical waters.

Happy New Year Everyone!

I know it’s a really late post and should’ve blogged right away but hey, the holidays get really busy. What with all the New Year’s parties that we went to. You know how crazy Nick and I get. Actually, Nick and I were home at 10am during New Year’s Eve. We just watched the Space Needle fireworks on TV. Yes, we met the New Year just chilling on the couch… but who said nothing happened on the couch? ;-)

The highlight for Nick’s and my new year was actually going to the Aquarium. What a crazy couple we are. So intense with our activities…

Here are a couple of photos that I took.

I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas celebration with friends and family. I know I did. Nick and I drove up to Camano Island last Wednesday night to be there for Christmas Eve morning.  Nick’s mom had their house all ready for Christmas.  With all the decorations, cookies and food ready for cooking in the fridge.

I had a great time with family and actually a good friend of mine even came up to celebrate Christmas Eve with us.

Here are a couple of photos to show the fun we had. :)

Office Christmas Lunch

Market Tray

Today we had our Office Christmas Lunch at the Four Seasons Hotel. In the photo (taken with a phone cam) you’ll see what my boss’ husband ordered. It’s their Market Season Tray where all the ingredients are fresh from the Pike Place Market. It’s like a 5 star tv dinner. HAHA! How sad, I just called hotel food tv dinner. No really, it did remind me of it. What with the tray and all. But it was really really good food! I’m glad I didn’t have to pay for it. It was pretty pricey. I thank my bosses for that.

I ordered the clam chowder, beef cheeks, fries and dessert pictured above. It was really good. The cheeks came shredded and shaped into a burger. I was expecting to get a beef that I would actually use a knife to cut into but oh well, it was what my bosses husband called “chewed up beef.” Don’t get me wrong, it was flavorful, but just wasn’t the texture I was expecting. It was like corned beef in a can texture. It was also my first time to try beef cheeks. I will not end my beef cheeks exploration here. I am sure there are other ways other restaurants serve this. Overall though, I was happy with what I got. :)

After our lunch, the manager of the Four Seasons gave us a tour of the hotel. Mostly to see the paintings of Pacific Northwest artists. He even took us to the presidential suite, which was like what… 5 times bigger than our apartment. One thing though, if I actually stayed or lived in a building like that in the downtown area, the one thing I won’t like is not being able to walk around naked with the windows open. My neighbors would see me right away. I mean it did have an amazing view of the Puget Sound but still… people on the other side of the building will be able to see me. Hey I don’t walk around naked all the time. I just like my privacy…. and walking around the apartment naked.

It was a fun time… we started lunch at 1pm and left the hotel at around 4:30pm. We obviously enjoyed ourselves. This is what I love about where I work.

Starting Over

I started blogging in December of 2002. I started with a free blog on blogger, to having a friend host my blog and giving me a domain in 2006, and now 3 years later, I am hosting my own blog and paying for it myself.

I have gone on blogging sprees to going on hiatus for months and months. This would be the nth time I change the face of my blog and the 3rd time that I start from scratch. Meaning zero posts. As I was in the process of moving into a new host, I asked my friend to back up my posts. I was thinking that I just wanted a new face. But after having problems with uploading it on my host and up to now, I still can’t figure it out, I decided that heck, I should just start over.

Blogs.. blogs. The great thing about blogs is that you can start all over again. Create a new you. Create hope. Create life. More to look forward to. And not have posts or baggage from the past haunting you every time you log onto your blog. You can just click on “delete”.

You can’t do that with life. But it doesn’t hurt to have a clean start. We’ll see where this blog goes. I might just create another blog solely for photos. I have done that before but didn’t really pursue it. But since I have my fancy camera, it gives me a good reason to challenge myself.

The look might change if you come back. I am still unsure of how I want the blog to look. We’ll see. For now, cheers to a fresh start!
